On June 16th, 2007 The LaSalle Hotel was a host and sponsor of the first ever Texas Reds: Steak & Wine Festival. Using historic downtown Bryan as a backdrop, the festival featured a steak cook-off, wine tastings from eleven Texas vineyards, live entertainment, children's activities, shopping, and more! With the huge success success of this first festival, The City of Bryan has decided to make Texas Reds an annual event and plans are already underway for 2008.

At the time of The LaSalle's opening in 1928, Bryan was a prominent railroad stop between Houston and Dallas due to its agricultural significance. The hotel was a prominent feature in the social lives of residents during that era, as well as a welcome sight to travelers arriving at the West 28th Street Passenger Depot. The Texas Reds: Steak & Grape Festival was a perfect way to once again welcome locals and travelers alike and to celebrate the historical, agricultural and social significance of the area.

Texas Reds 2008-

2008 promises to be even bigger and better than the award-winning inaugural year! Enjoy the steak cook-off, wine tastings, vendors, grape stomp, chef demonstrations, Kids Village and entertainment.

More entertainment can be found at the Palace Theatre, as well as roaming through the streets.
